New Adventure for the Boys

This morning, it couldn't make up it's mind if it wanted to be cloudy or sunny. Was preferring the cloudy since the sun was very hot.

This little guy had his feathers ruffled.

The boys had a new adventure today, they saw some new things. Mother, Lloyd, Avrey, Arley and I (Dad didn't go) went to Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The lighthouse and grounds are beautiful.

This is one of the porches of the keeper's house which is now a private residence.

When we got there, Mother announced that we were climbing. HUH? She didn't tell me that earlier. I didn't think she would be able. Wish I had known beforehand so I could have worn more appropriate shoes. Avrey and Arley were refusing to climb. I can understand why Avrey didn't want to because he has problems with his balance, but wish he would have tried. Arley finally agreed to climb (and he loved it). I decided not to climb and stay with Avrey. Did find out that he was afraid of the heights. This picture shows Arley, Mother and Lloyd at the top.
After we left the lighthouse, we went to the Whalehead Club area and to the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. The Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education is fairly new and has great displays on the history and on the wildlife.

When we got back to Nags Head, we were able to spend a little time down at the ocean, but not for very long since we had to get ready for dinner. While we were down at the ocean, a guy came walking along with his puppy. Arley wanted to pet the puppy so he approached and asked. The puppy was so darn cute. He was 15 weeks old. He wasn't quite sure about the ocean and all that water. When I started to head back to the room, the puppy kept following me.

We had dinner at Miller's Waterfront restaurant which is our favorite restaurant here. They have the best crab cakes. We had to wait a little for a table so we headed out to the gazebo which overlooks Roanoke Sound. I have a new favorite drink - Caribbean Breeze (Malibu Rum, Bacardi 151 rum, cranberry and pineapple juices).

Couldn't resist this picture of Arley at the gazebo.

Didn't have a great sunset tonight at Miller's Waterfront.
